TRANSCO has recently undertaken a significant restructuring and refocusing of its organization from a traditional engineering led structure in order to adopt and incorporate the principles of Strategic Asset Management (SAM) into its business processes. The roles of asset owner, manager and asset operator/maintainer have been separated in order to enable the balance between service, risk and cost to be optimized more effectively. Implementation of this new organization structure commenced in the second half of 2006, with further progress made in 2007.

The TRANSCO Executive Management Team
The Executive Management Team is responsible for:
  • Leadership of the TRANSCO workforce, including:
      - Communication of policies, strategies and business philosophy.
      - Commitment to TRANSCO’s vision, mission and values.
      - Encouragement of initiative, teamwork and learning.
      - Commitment to safe and environmentally friendly working practices.
  • Setting and enforcing TRANSCO policies and procedures which are consistent with ADWEA policies.
  • Developing improved business processes and proposing improved policies and procedures.
  • Preparation, submission and communication of the TRANSCO business plan.
  • Setting business targets consistent with TRANSCO’s business plan.
  • Reporting of TRANSCO business performance to the Board and ADWEA.
