TRANSCO has established a Work Readiness Programme with the Higher College of Technology, designed to train Emirati Job Seekers the specific minimum technical skill sets to qualify them for entry level positions within Engineering to the Emiratisation Plan.

Additionally as part of our employees’ professional progression, they have a Career Development Plan with associated planned training programmes that address the gaps between their existing knowledge, skills and abilities of their current position and the targeted position. This training is industry specific and where appropriate training is not currently available in the UAE, overseas training and secondments are considered.


The main business driver for TRANSCO’s development programmes are the engagement, motivation, and retention of talent, and to ensure the development of employee competency towards their target positions. This is achieved through identifying the employee’s strengths and areas of development in the current role and facilitating career progression, taking into consideration the employee’s aspirations and TRANSCO business requirements.

Several programmes have been devised to support TRANSCO’s efforts with regard to employee development and engagement:

  • Professional ladder process which will provide a mechanism for strengthening competency in current role and grade progression of employees in all major disciplines in the Company, and will be based on competency assessment in technical and behavioural elements.
  • Talent management programmes defining, identifying, and developing high-potential UAE Nationals to meet TRANSCO’s business requirements and to reinforce talent retention.
  • Succession planning for key organisational positions to identify career development paths and ensure business continuity.
  • Leadership development programmes will be focused on enhancing leadership qualities and performance in TRANSCO employees and teams. The process involves the establishment of competency standards for leadership positions and promotion of a coaching culture.
