Power Systems Engineer
Job Minimum Qualification
B.Sc. In Electrical Engineer or equivalent

Job Description
The primary role of the Power Systems Engineer is:
  • Power Systems engineers with minimum 6 year experience in electrical power transmission system planning and design including the use of power system analysis tools. The candidates should preferably come from a utility background having exposure to 132kV system voltage and above.
  • Conduct power network analysis (loadflow and short circuit studies, stability and dynamic studies) to assess the Technical compliance status and adequacy of Transco existing and planned transmission network.

  • Main responsibilities include:
  • Conduct power network analysis (load flow and short circuit studies, stability and dynamic studies) to assess the Technical compliance status and adequacy of Transco existing and planned transmission network.
  • Support the Department in preparing its five-year planning statement (Master Plan) and capital expenditure budget.
  • Work closely with Transco Power Projects Department and external Consultants during and post tender preparation stage to ensure scope meet requirements.
  • liaise with distribution companies and other customers on demand forecast and other planning issues.

Power Performance Engineer (1st April 2008)

The primary role of the Power Performance Engineer is:
  • Provide facilitation and assistance to the Power Performance Team Leader on all performance improvement and related matters.
  • Optimize the assets utilization for the operational assets strategy and review to achieve commercial assets portfolio strategy (Expanding the assets life span/cycle - Transformers, Switchgear, Relays, other Primary Plant, Cables, Overhead Lines).
  • Optimize Power Assets Maintenance Plan and Operational Cost Comparisons.
  • Monitor and report on O&M and replacement plan implementation progress.
  • Assist in Developing and Implementing Performance Assessment of asset condition.

Asset Performance System Analyst (1st April 2008)

Job Description
The primary role of the Asset Performance System Analyst is:
  • Assist in providing facilitation to the Asset Performance System Support Engineer on all performance improvement and related matters
  • Assist in producing and monitor AMD Balanced Score Card.
  • Assist in identify, setting and monitoring KPIs for all major functions and assesses achievements and plans to achieve target goals ensuring alignment with AMD strategy and the adoption of best practices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing long term asset strategy and build up and design performance reports using different tools and software (must be able to learn new software).
